Stag Hood Factory is based in Old Coulsdon, Surrey, and is run by Craig Bartholomew. Who operates from a new purpose built workshop where he carries out hood work solely on Triumph Stags.

 

When a hood frame is received, it’s placed onto a steel jig, cover is stripped and all rivets drilled out. Then it's the begin of a long process of realignment, exchanging  bolts if necessary and tightening using old school tools and technology. Welding works are then carried out if need be. 

 

Once the frame opens and closes, as should, it’s then sent off to be sandblasted and powder coated. Usually the frame is coated in Satin Black however other colours are available. Once received back the hood its rebuilt using new side catches and rear striking plate. All plastics are then re-coated with new seals around and mohair cover from Aldridge is placed on frame in a warm environment and finished off. Care of plastic windows – avoid using products which contain silicone, alcohol or anything abrasive on the plastic. Using a soft cloth clean windows using a mild detergent. Avoid rubbing the plastic when dry as this will scratch the window and always flood window with water before gently wiping with a damp cloth soft cotton cloth.

 

Care of zips – Use care when zipping and unzipping windows.  Where a separate open ended zip is used, ensure the ends marry up before commencing zip operation.

 

Stag Hood Factory operates an exchange policy for your hood otherwise there is a surcharge until old frame is received.
